Thoughts about labels

Monday, April 18, 2011 @ 9:17 AM

We live in a stereotypical world because of labels. High school is a very classic example. Think back. During your high school years, there would always be the jocks, the plastics, the nerds, the goths...and the list goes on and on. Not to mention "jejemon" is an added label. But come to think of it, labels doesn't give the totality of a person. For sure there is an inner geek in every cheerleader and a hidden compassion in every plastic.

I'm just sad that labels still exist in college. Sometimes I ask myself, "Ano ba ang napapala natin sa pagllabel ng mga tao?" I think that if one chooses a path that is not what is the society usually encounters, then it is best that the people should respect that person. I believe that we respect by accepting the people around us not by their capabilities but their personality in itself. As long as there is no harm present, then I don't see the reason why we should be so stereotypical.

Naisip ko lang bigla at nakakalungkot lang.
