(Angels and Demons review.)The Book
Breath-taking. I give it a 5-star. I loved it! Robert Langdon's back! Together with Vittoria Vetra, they've wandered all over the Vatican City to search for the missing anti-matter. They all thought that the mastermind in this crime was the group Illuminati. Their motive: to erase Christianity. But in the end, it turns out that Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca was behind this crime for he wanted the Christian world to not depend on technology.
The Movie
I admit. I have high expectations for the movie. But it disappointed me. First, they have erased some important details (like the one wherein the chief cardinal was telling Carlo that he's the Pope's son). Surprisingly, the Pope's still chaste because he and his girlfriend used some artificial processes for them to have a baby. Second, they changed some of the characters' name. The camerlengo's name became Patrick while Leonardo Vetra (Vittoria's father) was named Salvino. Third, they didn't include some of my favorite characters in the book. Namely, Maximillian Kohler, Gunter Glick and Chinita. :(
Review
No wonder Dan Brown's a well-known writer. He tells stories that makes our heart skip a beat. Not only that, this specific story of his makes me think if the group Illumanati really existed. Although the book laid some logical arguments against the Church, it doesn't made my faith weaker. Henceforth, I came to realize that we don't need science to explain what cannot be explained.
What I've learned in this book is that we must not be so fed up by the booming technology around us. We must take time to ponder on things for our faith to be strengthen.
