Love moderately.

Monday, April 27, 2009 @ 5:39 AM

About 2 weeks ago, I was on the phone with my best friend, Jay. While on the phone, I'm answering some survey on-line and Jay's reading some love quotes. Then after that phone call I stumbled on this site. It's a blog from a very sentimental and senseless girl. She filled her blog with love quotes that are both heartwarming and depressing. That on-line journal was a big reality check for me. I came across this quotes from the said site..

"Love is like alcohol. When you have too much, you began to act stupid. Love moderately."

"Isn't it wonderful when that special someone is a part of your daily routine? But the sad thing is, you can't blame him when he suddenly disappears because he was never really yours."

"He isn't my boyfriend but I love the way he hugs me, the way we laugh and the way we relate to each other. Well, I guess I fell in love with our friendship."

The words struck me. Especially the first one. I remember my mom giving me advices about love. She told me never to love too much especially now I'm too young. I believed her. Well, I guess I will meet that special someone without even looking for him. Maybe soon or later.

My mom also knows about him. She likes him (which is a relief. Kidding.) But really, it's nice to talk to my mom about the whole concept of love. She, herself, is experienced on that matter. She know I "like" him. Take note: like. It's not just a simple crush. (Ok. He went on-line. :|) "It might be him but keep in mind that there's a possibility that it might not be him." She always says that.

Oh, love. What a deep word. Well, I guess I just have to wait for the "one". My mom may be right. It might be him but it might also be someone else.

Give us a chance. We can change.

(This post is about the movie The Day The Earth Stood Still.)

PLOT
Kaatu, an alien that transformed into a human being, was forced to come to planet Earth. His mission: to end the human race. He transported through a sphere; causing the world leaders and scientist to be alarmed. All of them thought that the sphere was an asteroid that will destroy Earth but they were wrong. The sphere parked at Central Park. Kaautu revealed himself which made a shock to all people. Many questioned his existence. Human in form but came from another planet. Scientist began to question him: Why is he here? Is he the start of the apocalypse? One of the scientist was Helen Benson. All of them wanted to destroy Kaatu, thinking that he'll be a threat to the human race but Helen thought otherwise. So she talked to Kaatu. Kaautu laid down his purpose of going to Earth. Helen was dumbfounded and begged Kaatu to give humans a chance. For Kaatu,it is too late. Decisions have been made. Humans destroyed the Earth that is why humans must be destroyed for the preservation of the only living planet. Of course, the movie had a happy ending. Kaatu witnessed how humans love through Helen and her stepson Jacob. Because of this, he thought that humans can really change the world for the common good. So, Kaatu went back to sphere. He left; leaving a big responsibility to the human race.

REVIEW

The Day The Earth Stood Still is a movie for all ages. Scott Derickson (director), has weaved the scenes properly.

And the lesson of the movie itself is very appropriate to the current situation of our "home". Basically, the movie aims to be an eye-opener to humans. Especially nowadays, we tend to be careless. Thus, wounding Mother Earth. What must we do? ACT. Take part of evironmental programs like Earth Hour. Think about this: Do we want an alien to invade our planet because of our carelessness? Well, I hope your answer to that is NO. Also, I hope that everyone will be awakened and take steps.

A Friend or A Lover?

Friday, April 3, 2009 @ 9:45 AM

Some song I wrote.

Started out as friends
To each other we depend
Shared our dreams and aspirations
But it seems that love didn't gave me an option

REFRAIN
Then you gave me that look
My hand you gladly took
Oh I've never felt this way before
The question is will I let this soar

CHORUS
Now I'm starting to ask
A friend or a lover
But I can't remove this mask
Nor I can't let my feelings alter

After a few months she came
You liked her and we were never the same
I'm starting to wonder why you're acting like this
You're so sweet to me but she's who you miss

[REFRAIN]
[CHORUS]
